NASCAR Cup Series

NASCAR, Nationwide traces its roots to rural America and automobiles. That's why Nationwide is proud to be the title sponsor of the NASCAR Nationwide Series™ and the official auto, home and life insurance partner of NASCAR. The Nationwide Series is NASCAR's second most popular racing series, enjoying the support of 75 million fans, including 2.7 million who annually attend NASCAR Nationwide Series races.

With year three of the NASCAR Nationwide Series upon us, Nationwide continues to deliver fresh ideas, energy and resources to make the NASCAR Nationwide Series the best motorsports series possible. The 2010 season features an exciting combination of talented young drivers, seasoned veterans and high-profile superstars in a 35-race battle for the championship.

Key dates throughout the season will make the on-track activity as thrilling as ever. Wildly popular IRL driver, Danica Patrick will test her skills in a stock car on a limited basis, Nationwide Insurance brings back the Dash 4 Cash bonus program and innovative technology will debut in the form of a new NASCAR Nationwide Series car for four races starting with Daytona in July.

Dash 4 Cash, a bonus program created to develop and support NASCAR Nationwide Series regulars and up-and-comers, will see drivers battle it out for a $25,000 bonus at NASCAR Nationwide Series races in Nashville (April), Kentucky, Iowa and Texas (Nov.). Eligible drivers also are competing for a year-end $75,000 bonus, an increase over last year’s pay out. Brad Keselowski swept the 2009 Dash 4 Cash program, creating fierce competition on the track.

Differentiation and uniqueness are the name of the game going forward with the introduction of the new car in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, which will begin competition on July 2, 2010, at Daytona International Speedway. It also will run this year at Michigan International Speedway (Aug. 14), Richmond International Raceway (Sept. 10) and Charlotte Motor Speedway (Oct. 15). The main difference between the current car and new car will be the chassis and the body. In addition, the NASCAR Nationwide Series car also will provide the same safety enhancements that are in place on the current NASCAR Sprint Cup car and will also make more bolt-on parts interchangeable.
